Falling Creek Falls in North Florida is a unique feature in the state. Water from Falling Creek, which extends from the Suwanee River, cascades 10 feet into the basin. Tannins from the cypress and other surrounding trees create the golden brown color of the water and foam on the banks. When the foam evaporates, the residual organic matter stays behind, leaving us with the forbidden cotton candy you see above surrounding this rare natural waterfall.
