Devil's Bathtub is one of the few waterfalls that doesn't have the word "Falls" in its name. Why? This 5 to 10 foot waterfall (depending on water level) is less of a waterfall and more of a sandstone pit nestled in the Devil Fork stream bed. Hikers can hike the 7.2-mile Devil Fork Loop Trail or take a more direct out-and-back route for a total of 3.6 miles.
It's worth noting that the trail contains multiple water crossings and requires a bit of route-finding experience, as it's not very well marked. Additionally, the road to the parking area is a bit bumpy and a high clearance vehicle is recommended, although I managed with a front wheel drive 2017 Volkswagen GTI. The hike itself is beautiful, and the area is known for frequent Eastern newt sightings. I was able to snap a couple photos of one myself! If you've got the time, I would definitely recommend checking out Devil's Bathtub!
