The Falls of Hills Creek are a collection of three beautiful waterfalls along a ¾-mile trail in the scenic Monongahela National Forest of Hillsboro, West Virginia. The falls become progressively taller, moving from 25 feet to 45 feet to 63 feet, with the lower falls considered the second tallest in the state. In total, Hills Creek drops 220 feet from the upper to lower falls. The first waterfall is even handicap accessible with a boardwalk comprising the first 1700 feet of the trail (and there are restrooms here too).  However, accessing the lower falls will require descending 382 steps, which also means ascending them on the way back.
The area is a popular spot for naturalists and hydrologists. Along the trail, visitors can find over 40 species of wildflowers, especially from spring to early summer. Hills Creek itself demonstrates at least four principles of stream development, eventually feeding into the limestone caverns under Droop Mountain. All in all, this place is worth a visit!
