Sandstone Falls is a 10-foot, cascading waterfall along the New River inside New River Gorge National Park. What's so great about a 10-foot waterfall you ask? Well, this one happens to be 1,500 feet wide and marks the transition of the New River from a broad river to a narrow mountain river snaking its way through the Appalachian Mountains. From the Sandstone Visitor Center, visitors can hike the one-mile loop to see the falls and beautiful West Virginian botanical ecosystems.
