Kanarra Falls includes a collection of four lovely cascades along the slot canyons of Kanarra Creek. While many people know about The Narrows in nearby Zion National Park, Kanarra Falls gives a very similar experience without the crowds, and these slot canyons are extremely picturesque! The first and most notable waterfall is the 10-foot namesake, Kanarra Falls, which requires the use of a 20-foot ladder to scale. This waterfall is roughly 1.6 miles in. A second waterfall occurs along a boulder 1.7 miles in, falling roughly 8 feet. A third double waterfall, roughly 6 feet high, occurs about 1.8 miles in in an open area surrounded by lush trees and high canyon walls. The views here are stunning, and it's a perfect picnic spot. The last waterfall (listed as the 2nd Waterfall on the official website) is another double and occurs 1.9 miles in. It is about 7 feet in height. Sadly I did not realize this waterfall existed until after I visited. It is not recommended going beyond this point, as it becomes private property. If you're looking for a slot canyon hike that's a bit easier than The Narrows but still makes for a fantastic adventure, this is the place!
Please note, permits are required to do this hike. They can be obtained online.
