Whaleback Falls is an 8-foot tall cascade in the heart of the Pisgah National Forest. While rather unimpressive itself, a cool rock feature in the basin resembles the back of a whale. This waterfall is very easy to get to, being only 0.1 miles south from the parking area. For more of a workout, check out Cove Creek Falls, which starts from the same location.
