Nellie's Falls is a lovely 25-foot waterfall tucked away in the Nantahala National Forest. From the parking area, cross Flat Creek and take the trail designated by two orange ties on the left. Continue through the pine and rhododendron forest, following orange and pink ties as they appear. Please note that this trail is extremely overgrown, especially towards the end, and downed trees from Hurricane Helene block much of the trail. It's important to be aware of your surroundings. Additionally, accessing the trailhead requires a 15 minute drive down an unpaved road. AWD or 4WD and high clearance are recommended. Trekking poles are also recommended. This trailhead can also be used to see Flat Creek Falls.
